Michael Feighan, a political strategist for state Rep. Caroline Simmons, enjoyed some refreshments after spending several hours at the polls during the day.

"We had a lot of positive response at the poll," he said. "Very positive. She deserves it. She worked hard, incredibly hard."

Lorie Miller worked on state Rep. Terry Adams' campaign. "It's been a very interesting campaign," she said. "I'm looking forward to seeing him win."

Leslie Weinberg said she has spent over 40 years working on political campaigns. She makes calls on behalf of Democratic candidates.

"I'm very patient. I know how to listen, and I don't take it personally if they hang up on me," she said. "I listen to their complaints and I pass them along to the candidates."

Asked what she had been hearing from the people she called, Weinberg said that a lot of people had voted and that a lot of them had used absentee ballots.

"People are unhappy, generally speaking," she said. "But you can have your own opinion, I don't care, as long as you vote."
